DREAMCUTTER TECHNOLOGY

Roofrobot

Never seen underground construction technology

The increasing population in cities all over the world is putting pressure on the urban landscape. Globally, urbanized regions face the important task of accommodating population growth while at the same time requiring more open space to improve living conditions in inner cities. If cities want to remain cultural, social, and economic centers, they will have to make use of the underground space. There is only one major problem: much of the available space is already taken up by above-ground structures, and the nuisance created by traditional construction methods becomes increasingly difficult to justify.

The solution to this challenge, the Dreamcutter technology is two-part. First there is the Cube System, a machine that creates slurry walls out of underground low headroom spaces. For more information, please take a look at https://www.denys.com/projecten/dreamcutter. Secondly there is the Roofrobot, another game-changer in underground construction. This machine is developed by Denys and makes it possible to create a roof out of underground low headroom spaces. The Roofrobot is a safer, quicker and more labor-friendly alternative for the traditional construction method of a piperoof. The roof created by the Roofrobot can have a span of 20 m and is completely waterproof.

The Roofrobot consists of a cutterhead, a module for the soil disposal and is followed by concrete elements. These elements are reinforced and concreted witch creates the arched roof.

This technique can be used for various types of projects such as the construction of underground railway stations, parking space, and much more.
